Job Description:

The COTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and have jobs that include:
Assisting the Occupational Therapist in the evaluation process as needed or directed.
Assisting in evaluations of patients under an Occupational Therapist
Assisting in organizing, planning, and treatment along with an Occupational Therapist.
Conducting individual, supervised and group treatment as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
Coordinating with team members in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
Conferring formally and informally with other team members in coordinating the total rehabilitation program of the resident.
Assuming responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
Adhering to Occupational Therapy Department procedures regarding documentation of Occupational Therapy Services.
Providing treatment in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and productivity standards.
Recording billable treatment times according to Occupational Therapy Department procedures and submits weekly/monthly statistics to regional office.
