Ardor Weather Advisory: Upcoming Conditions & Winter Travel Safety Notice
As freezing temperatures and inclement winter weather move across parts of the U.S. over the next several days, Ardor Health would like to share an important advisory for all travelers who are currently working or preparing to report to assignments in regions that may be affected.
Your safety is our top priority. Severe winter weather can lead to hazardous driving conditions, delayed travel, sudden schedule changes, facility closures, and unexpected power outages. During this time, we strongly encourage all travelers to take extra precautions, stay informed, and maintain clear communication with both your facility and your Ardor team.
Please Prioritize Safety First
If you are located in (or traveling to) an area impacted by freezing conditions, we encourage you to use heightened caution, including:
-
Allowing extra time for travel and commuting
-
Avoiding unnecessary trips when road conditions are unsafe
-
Monitoring local weather and road updates regularly
-
Dressing appropriately for extreme temperatures and wind chills
-
Preparing for possible outages (power, heat, internet, cell service)
If conditions become unsafe, do not take risks. Your personal safety comes first.
Follow Verified Instructions Only
During severe weather events, updates can change quickly, and misinformation can spread easily. For this reason, it’s important that you:
✅ Follow guidance issued directly by your facility
✅ Follow updates provided directly by Ardor Health
✅ If you receive uncertain or conflicting information, confirm it with your Ardor team before acting
When in doubt, reach out first. We’re here to support you and help you make informed decisions.

Communication Expectations
To ensure safety, schedule alignment, and accurate pay documentation, we ask that you maintain consistent communication with both:
-
Your Ardor Team (Recruiter / Support Team)
AND
-
Your Facility Leadership (Unit manager / supervisor / charge nurse or department lead)
If you experience any concerns or disruptions related to weather, please communicate them to both groups as soon as possible.
If You Experience Any Changes, Notify Your Recruiter Immediately
Inclement weather can lead to sudden adjustments, including:
-
Facility closures or delayed openings
-
Shift cancellations
-
Adjusted start times
-
Emergency staffing requests
-
Changes to reporting instructions
-
Power, water, or heat outages affecting your housing or ability to safely report
If any of the above occur, please notify your recruiter right away with every update, even if you’ve already given an initial heads-up.
These details help us ensure:
✅ Your schedule is aligned and documented correctly
✅ You are paid accurately and on time
✅ Patients continue receiving consistent care through coordinated staffing support
In the Event of an Emergency
If you are experiencing an emergency or immediate safety concern, seek help right away through appropriate local resources first.
After addressing urgent safety needs, please notify both:
-
Your facility leadership / unit contact
-
Your Ardor recruiter/team
We want to be aware of the situation and ready to support you through next steps.
We Appreciate You
To every traveler currently working through challenging conditions, thank you. Your dedication, flexibility, and commitment to patient care are deeply appreciated.
We recognize that winter weather brings added stress, unpredictability, and last-minute changes. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we navigate the impact of this weather together.
Please stay safe, warm, alert, and in close communication. Your Ardor Team is here for you.
